In 1944 18 years old Suzu Urano moves to the small city of Kure in the Hiroshima Prefecture. She marries a young army worker from the nearby naval base. Despite the war conditions, Suzu does her best to run her household, as necessity is mother of invention. Still, the war is getting closer and closer, and it is also becoming clear: even in this small corner of the world life won't be able to stay as it was… The same name Manga was published from 2007 to 2009 and –as often with successful stories– was later adapted to other media. In 2016 the animated film was also released.
