Umi has an extraordinary ability: With her absolute hearing, she can detect even the slightest dissonance. But this ability is also a burden. Loud noises and disharmonic sounds are causing her physical pain. That’s why she usually wears headphones; to block out surrounding noises – but this also isolates her from contact with others. It gets increasingly difficult for her to keep in touch with her friends.
Only when she meets the gifted violinist Yuko, do things start to change. Having found a soul-relative in Yuko, the two girls become very close friends and together try to get out of their isolation.
