Ojisama, an aging writer, enjoys the company of Akago, a goldfish capable of transforming into a girl. One day, the ghost of Yuriko Tamura, an old lover of Ojisama, appears. Akago is given the opportunity to learn more about life and love from Yuriko. However, their friendship is riddled with jealousy and competition for the old man's affection. “Bitter Honey” from director Gakuryu Ishii is a well done colorful, poetic film about love, loss and desire.
